Open and Joyous

Been a while since I worked on this.  Probably should do so...

This semester has been tough, very busy working on my Thesis, final Masters class, applying to PhD programs (Georgia State University, University of Georgia and University of South Carolina...GO GAMECOCKS!!) balancing a girlfriend and working pretty close to full time.

In a word, hectic.

However, it has its upside as well.  I bought a suit, 3-piece grey pinstripe...I think its a very timeless, classy look.  I don't care if some think me overdressed, I like it and to be honest, I look darn good in it.  The primary reason for said suit is that I am being awarded with the 2011-2012 Outstanding Graduate Student of the Year award for Kinesiology.  Needless to say, some people say oh "pssh thats not much", we'll screw them...I worked darn hard for this and I'm proud of my accomplishment and I praise God for allowing this honor.  I requested Dr Dohoney present the award to me, it just seemed fitting...she allowed me into the department and in this way, she can display her appreciation and "see me out" of her department...even though she is now the Dean of the College of Education.  I'm very exciting, this will be my first Academic award since...well, I dont know...ever?  Unless we count 8th grade Geography or 5th grade spelling B's.
Still haven't heard anything from the PhD programs, its been a month..trying to understand it takes a while because they likely have numerous applicants...My panic button seems to be getting larger, however...these loans,subsidized :) , are salivating in waiting for me to not be enrolled in school!

Mass Effect 3 comes out on Tuesday, I purchased this...wow...as soon as I could and I'm super excited for it.   I was a bit let down by the end game PvE and PvP for Star Wars: The Old Republic, so I'm MORE than Sure that BioWare won't fail me twice...will they?

So, thats really about it...not too much philosophy here...I will depart on this note:

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtues
Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch;
If neither foes not loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run -
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man my son!
-Rudyard Kipling
